Kitchen Table Talks

These sessions are a unique and informal model for parent education and a very enjoyable component of the Wellness Program. For this program, a District Parent volunteers to host the District Wellness Coordinator in their homes and invite other parents to attend.  The discussions center upon issues that are relevant to and identified by the parents/attendees. Topics addressed have included: drug and alcohol information, communication with your child, healthy self-esteem, mental health in children/adolescents, bullying and vaping.

These sessions have grown in popularity since the idea was first implemented, with more than 300 parents being reached through this effort. For more information or to schedule a Table Talk, contact District Wellness Coordinator, Catherine Widder, at 210-832-5956 or [email protected].
