Bond

On Saturday, May 8, 2010, the Alamo Heights ISD community approved a $44 million bond. With 75% voter approval, the district will be able to replace, maintain, and expand technology for classrooms, expand the Music Building at the High School, partner with CPS Energy for solar energy, reallocate space to increase the number of classrooms and address the numerous needs listed in the district's bond proposal.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kevin Brown, shared his thanks and appreciation to the community through the latest edition of School Views, the district's newsletter. "Our community continues to amaze me with the support of children and schools and the understanding that successful schools and healthy communities go hand-in-hand. The bond funds will help the district address many needs and continue to maintain and exceed our 100-year tradition of excellence. Though we face very difficult financial times over the next few years on the operational side of our budget, the bond will be a tremendous help. This summer, we will begin planning for the implementation of this bond."
